ATTENDING MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS
Membership meetings are union-wide meetings where the most important union decisions are made. For example, budgets, bargaining platforms and endorsements of political candidates are all voted on at membership meetings. As a UAW member, coming to membership meetings and voting is one of the most important ways you can influence the direction of your union. Membership meetings typically happen about once a month during the academic year. See the calendar at the right for upcoming membership meeting dates.
One great way to ensure a strong union is to volunteer your time, creativity and skills by serving on or chairing a union committee!
The UAW has a number of active committees including: the Students of Color and Allies Working Group, the Housing and Families Working Group, the Communications Working Group, the Personnel Working Group, and the Statewide Anti-Oppression Committee.
